Journey to El Hierro by plane...

Teneriffa-South/"Reina Sofia" is the biggest airport of the Canaries, airplanes from all over Europe and Central America are landing at two minutes intervals. According to this there is a chance of booking a flight to Tenerife-South on good terms. From the airport Tenerife-South take the bus line 340 and 343 (six times a day) to the airport Tenerife-North and continue your journey to El Hierro by plane (four times a day between 7.30 and 16.30 h).
Alternatively you can go on by ferry: Take a taxi to the port of Los Cristianos (15 km, about 20 Euros). Several times a week ferries are leaving there for El Hierro.
Often the exceptionally well-priced flights are heading to Tenerife-North/"Los Rodeos". Take one of the planes of "Binter Canarias" there, awarded the "best airline of the year" two years in a row by an international jury. The airline travels from TFN to VDE and back four times a day. The duration of the flight is about 40 minutes and includes spectacular views of Tenerife's famous vulcano "Pico del Teide" (3814 m).

The Canarian-Norwegian company Fred.Olsen is offering the route Los Cristianos-El Hierro several times a week. At the moment there is no direct connection between La Gomera and El Hierro, so that passengers have to change in Los Cristianos. The passage takes about two and a half hours. The price for a one-way trip is about 50 Euros.
