This house is a piece of art: It was built by a Gomeran artist and is decorated with paintings and sculptures. But this house is also about politics: Like every artist he wants to increase our awareness of the world surrounding us. The wood integrated into the cottage originates from a so-called "Cayuco", a name for the boats that are used by the boat people from the African continent to reach the Canary Islands, often - and sadly - a lethal venture. Over the past years some of those boats even made their ways to La Gomera.

As it is a holiday cottage, "Buenavida" has so much more to offer: a stunning view of the sea and the island, a spacious sun terrace, cosy interior, a living room with a wood-burning fireplace for relaxing after a day at the beach... perfect recreation!
The artist offers individual drawing and painting courses, as well as drawing excursions.
The small village Alajeró in the southern desert of La Gomera, counting 500 inhabitants, a few shops and three restaurants, is 400 m away, the beach of Playa de Santiago and the golf course 10 km. Alajeró is situated at an altitude of 800 m, in winter the nights can be quite chilly, therefore the cottage has a wood-burning fireplace providing pleasant warmth.
